When you think of beaches in India, the first place to pop in your mind is probably Goa - its gorgeous sandy beaches, easy going vibes and popularity make it a tourist hotspot and thus top the list for many of our beach vacays but we truly need to explore a bit more. In a country that is surrounded by vast open seas and oceans, there is no dearth of playful beaches and we say it's time to head out, lie on a hammock and soak in the summer sun at these gorgeous locales.
1. The Marari Sands Beach, Mararikulam, Kerala
A private stretch of golden sandy beach; lush green palms with hammocks; meandering stone path ways leading to your private villa set in lush green grass; clear blue skies; amazing cuisine – this is what staying at this hidden beach is all about. Surrounded by swaying green palms trees, this ‘hideaway’ gives you time to do all that you have always wanted to – take a dip in the blue sea or, a leisurely stroll on the beach with the setting sun, or an indulgent Ayurveda experience in the spa to soothe the mind and the soul.
2. Niraamaya Surya Samudra, Kovalam, Kerala

Long walks on the secluded beaches, dips in the rock-cut infinity pool or spectacular views of the Arabian Sea from the restaurant help you forget the chaos of city life.
