Balconies are the perfect spot for those endless hours and unending conversations with uninterrupted sublime views- of expansive gardens, orchards, a plantation or perhaps a wildlife sanctuary.
Wherever you stay a great balcony can make simple moments like enjoying a cuppa as the sun sets that much more enjoyable. This week we’ve curated a list of balconies we are currently obsessed with –
The day always starts right at this 10 acre homestay in Kapurthala with stunning views of Mughal gardens, fountains and peacocks prancing about, from the balcony of our room. Following that up with a delicious breakfast spread along with five skinned almonds under the gazebo. Spending the rest of the day in absolute peace in the gardens, the spa, the pool or perhaps an excursion to the Golden Temple, Wagah Border – sounds like a lot of fun, doesn’t it?
2. Neeralaya, Raison, Himachal Pradesh
Snuggled up in the Himalayas by the River Beas, this retreat has the perfect balcony to enjoy your evening cuppa paired with bread, cookies and an assortment of home-made jams that Mr. Suri’s mom is famous for! Our favourite spot in this retreat, this balcony can serve as a reading nook or a great vantage point to observe the stunning beauty that surrounds this hideaway – numerous fruit-bearing trees, Himalayas and the gushing river will leave you mesmerized.
3. Pench Tree Lodge, Karmajhiri, Madhya Pradesh
Alarms are replaced with jungle calls as you stay at this safari lodge by the Pench National Park. There are many things to do here – day safaris, night safaris, village visits and nature trails but what we love most? Watching the wild boars, civets, jungle cats, jackals and spotted deer as we sip our morning tea or the evening sundowner from the comfort of our private deck.
4. Meriyanda Nature Lodge, Madikeri, Karnataka
Last but not least on our list is this coffee plantation estate located by stunning Hattihole riverside and Kotte Betta mountains in the hamlet of Coorg. Each villa here has a balcony offering the most extraordinary views – The Valley View and Planter’s Cottages are on stilts hovering 20 feet above ground and offer views of the coffee plantation and lush valley. But for the unbeatable view, choose a stay at the king’s villa which is perched upon a hill from you can see the Kotte Betta mountains, the valley and its foothills along with the Hattihole River in all their glory.
So, where are you heading to?
