Never underestimate the healing powers of a long bath – there is a certain magic in relaxing in a bath tub with your favourite music playing in the background and the sweet smells of a scented candle wafting through the air. If the bath-tub comes with swoon-worthy gorgeous views, well then that really is the stuff of dreams. We can already feel our shoulders sag in relief and our eyes shut in bliss at the very thought.
This week we bring to you a list of our favourite bathtubs that is sure to make your ‘me-time’ even more special. Relax, unwind and soak up the goodness you know you deserve!
1. Solang Valley Resort, Manali, Himachal Pradesh
This beautiful retreat is situated at 8500 ft above sea level, and allows you to experience nature in all its glory! With gorgeous views of the dense forest and the snow-capped Himalayas, it’s the perfect getaway – away from urban life yet complete with all the comforts of civilization. But the views and serenity aren’t the only things that have us swooning – this bathtub looks like the perfect spot to wash away all our city stresses and enjoy a moment of reprieve from ‘real’ life.
2. Samode Safari Lodge, Bandhovgarh, Madhya Pradesh
The Samode Safari Lodge at the Bandhavgarh National Park is an imensely private and remote lodge. It is located adjacent to the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve which has one of the highest density of tigers in the world. They celebrate their surroundings with a motif of the wild which can be seen throughout the property and this bathroom is no different – with the artistry that surrounds this English rolltop tub, a bath here is akin to bathing in the wild. What can be better than unwinding in that gorgeous bath tub surrounded by candles, after a day spent on safari?
3. Kurumba Village Resort, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu
The Kurumba Village Resort is a rare aromatic arena and the invigoratingly clean air here has to be breathed to be believed! The resort has been built artfully in a 10-acre former spice plantation, sculpted into a hill and not a single tree has been harmed in the process. A getaway here is almost reminiscent of holidaying in the Amazon forest because of the views of the dense, lush plantations that can be seen from the rooms. This bathtub allows us to bring a little bit of nature indoors. Surrounded by scented candles and beautiful flowers, the tub was surely made to delight all of your senses.
Villa Morjim is a one-of-a-kind heritage villa on the banks of the Chapora river – a two-minute walk from Morjim Beach. It is crafted in a way to help you experience the impeccable magic of Goa and the ‘sussegado’ Goan lifestyle. A stay here is all about slowing down and really taking a moment for yourself and enjoying the rustic vibes of this villa. The bathroom with its thatched roofs, the chic blue bath tub and the laterite walls has relaxation written all over!
5. COMO Uma Paro, Paro, Bhutan
The architecture at this ornate hermitage in Bhutan combines the colourful accents of traditional Bhutanese craftsmanship with clean-lined contemporary designs to produce a sleek and original vibe. This hot stone bathtub offering sweeping vistas of the Paro Valley is our favourite spot in our suite – a great place to enjoy the serenity and peace of the village.
So, which of these is your favourite?
